Accordionist Claudio Jacomucci with the Orpheus’ Ballad project completes a long design journey that sees him constantly traveling through time in search of a lost and rediscovered counterpoint within contemporary music and does so by comparing some masterpieces by Ligeti and Scodanibbio with the highest expressions of the past of this art. Hence, next to a fascinating instrumental suite of the Orfeo Monteverdiano there is a composition by Martin Lohse, close to Scarlatti’s sonatas and a Jacob Van Eycke Ligeti looks out and still close to the English Dowland we find a composition by Jacomucci who closes and summarizes all the work of the disc, an almost perfect mirror of baroque and contemporary music united by a powerful fil rouge that unites them as today as it will in the future.
