Venice is a city of art, and for music that evokes the Romanesque mosaics of San Marco one might look to Venetia Mundi Splendor and Oktoechos, whose academically laudable programme of medieval polyphony by Landini, Ciconia, Dufay et al includes some world premiere recordings.
