Vocal Chords, Musical For Cellos – On The Bridge Ensemble

Eight cellos, eight instrumentalists for a unique project: Vocal Chords. Debut album by ON THE BRIDGE Cello Ensemble, the project literally crosses some of the most important phases in the history of music, re-proposing them through an exceptional sound that never fails to captivate from the first listen. A project that finds its own center with the compositions of contemporary authors such as Francesco Cerrato, Joseph Noyon and Pierre Petit, which is gradually enriched with works of the now historic twentieth century by Benjamin Britten and Heitor Villa-Lobos up to the full baroque by Johann Sebastian Bach, the seventeenth century by John Dowland and paying homage to a little-known author of the sixteenth century as Giovanni Maria Nanino. A certainly eclectic path that finds its raison d’etre in that unique sound that arises thanks to both the complete control of the instrument of each of the performers, and thanks to the very strong cohesion that the ensemble manages to convey on each page.
