The flute in Italy can boast numerous exponents of value, among these one of the names that immediately stands out is that of Raffaele Trevisani, today one of the greatest exponents of this instrument at an international level. His latest project focuses on an author who is perhaps not particularly known for the flute repertoire but who nevertheless wrote a splendid work dedicated to them and who in turn was the inspiration for numerous compositions by as many virtuosos, such as Theobald Bohm, present here with an original arrangement of a serenade by Bohm’s composer, and composers such as Galli, Gariboldi and Doppler who paid homage to Beethoven in some of their compositions. Hence, this Trevisani Souvenir, accompanied by pianist Paola Girardi, deviates significantly from the nostalgic effect to which the word is often linked and becomes a convergence point of rediscovery in another light of what was probably the most significant composer of the entire history of nineteenth-century music and which still today does not cease to thrill audiences and audiences from every corner of the world.
